Bilateral labour agreements (BLAs) are agreements between two countries aimed at ensuring fair and ethical recruitment of workers. BLAs regulate the condition of a migrant worker in a host country.
The BLA between The Gambia and Qatar aims at regulating the recruitment, entry and employment of Gambian Manpower in the State of Qatar through the provision of legal protection consistent with the laws of the two countries.
The BLA between The Gambia and the United Arab Emirates seeks to enhance the existing friendly relationship between the two countries through cooperation in the field of manpower to promote mutual benefits intended to guide the development of an institutional partnership between the two countries. There is a focus on practical outcomes through an improved administration of the contract employment circle of Gambian works in the United Arab Emirates.
